Setting up the WorkstationsNot to belabor a point, but Do Not Install CaseFinder from the CD to the Workstations. Rather, from the desktop of a workstation, navigate to the application folder (where the CaseFinder program was installed). Beneath it, there will be a "\WkSetup" sub-folder, and in the \WkSetup folder there will be a setup.exe file. Double-click on it to install the workstation version of CaseFinder to the workstation. If instead of following these instructions, you take the CD to the workstation, plop it into the workstation's CD drive, run setup and accept all the installation defaults, you will wind up with a version of CaseFinder running on that workstation which will not be able to access any databases across the network. Then, you'll be upset because your CaseFinder isn't running like you wanted it to, you'll call our tech support line, we'll figure out that you didn't read these instructions, you'll be embarrassed and we'll be grumpy. Now, we don't want that to happen, do we? |
